Want to Vote Today?
Know Your Rights:
Stay in Line: If you are in line before the polls close, you have a legal right to vote even if you have not reached the front by the time the polls close (know when your polling place closes so you can be in line before then!)
Ask for a New Ballot: If you make a mistake and need to re-do your ballot, ask the poll workers for a new ballot (they will securely dispose of your og one)
If your Name Isn’t on the Voter Reg List: Request a provisional ballot and follow up with your election office to check if your ballot was counted.
Check your ID Requirements: Find out your state’s ID requirements - if you forget your ID or don’t have what they request, you may still be able to vote by provisional ballot.

A Heartfelt Thank You to the New Voters Team
Over the last seven years, I have had the immense privilege of leading New Voters and learning from the thousands of students who drive and direct this work forward. This Election Day marks New Voters’ second-ever Presidential Election—and the first where we could engage on the ground in person. From achieving 100% voter registration in high schools, to presenting at conferences for hundreds of educators, to organizing the largest high school voting party in U.S. history, there is no goal that New Voters youth leaders haven’t met, surpassed, and elevated to new levels.
It’s hard to believe that our small high school club has evolved into a nationwide movement. New Voters thrives because of the support and generosity of schools, donors, advisors, and, above all, our team of college and high school students. It is my deepest honor to work alongside each of you reading this to ensure that young voices are heard and respected, long before their first ballot. We will continue working, every year, 365 days, to ensure young people are heard and prioritized in politics.
Thank you for being part of New Voters, for your passion, and for the impact you continue to create. Never let anyone tell you that you can’t make a difference or be heard because of your age or any other reason. You deserve to have a say in the decisions that affect you most. I’m excited to see turnout soar today, and for it to be led by the passionate, tireless, and new voters.
- Jahnavi Rao, President and Founder of New Voters
