Jahnavi Rao, New Voters Founder, Named L'Oréal Paris Woman of Worth
With this award, our organization receives a $25,000 grant, a short documentary, and recognition at a gala!
We have exciting news to share! L’Oréal Paris has awarded Jahnavi Rao, President and Founder of New Voters, the prestigious honor of being named one of ten L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth in 2024. This award recognizes the achievements of non-profit leaders making a profound difference in the lives of others by tackling some of our society’s most pressing issues. We are humbled and grateful for this honor, and know it is only possible due to the entire New Voters team and the support of all of you.
Each year, the beauty brand selects these women from across the nation to support through charitable grants, mentorship, and a national platform to spread the word on their important charitable missions. There will be a gala in Los Angeles celebrating the honorees in late November, and a short documentary released later in September.
As a recipient, New Voters has been awarded $25,000 to continue our work empowering and amplifying high school student voices in politics and civic life to safeguard our future! In addition, Courageous Studios at Warner Bros has created a short documentary about our work (featuring many of our team members, to be released soon), and our founder will be celebrated at the L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth annual gala alongside the other honorees in November. We’re thrilled about this amazing recognition and the grant, which is so critical to our work.
Thank you to our long-time advisors Sam Novey, Alan Khazei, and former Operations Director Vidya Patel (UCLA ‘24) for recommending Jahnavi for this award - their constant support for and belief in New Voters, alongside the support and belief of many of you, is what makes it possible for us to continue this work.
