Position Overview:
New Voters is a youth-led, nonpartisan 501(c)3 dedicated to ensuring high school students are heard and prioritized in politics. Since being founded in 2017, we have run nonpartisan registration drives in over 500 high schools across 42 states, civically engaging 80,000 high school students with over 300 interns and directors in our national team. In 2024 alone, we ran 390 voter registration drives and trained 650 high school students to run registration drives. We have been recognized by the United Nations and featured in Teen Vogue, CNN, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, NBC News, Bloomberg, C-Span, HBO Max and Forbes.
New Voters is seeking a full-time, remote Outreach Manager who will lead targeted and effective high school chapter recruitment—laying the foundation for sustained, multi-year campaigns that drive us toward our goal of 700 registration drives by 2026. New Voters is looking for a driven, organized, and passionate leader with at least two years of experience in sales, managing high school students, outreach, and/or experience working with high schools.
This position is fully remote, though preference will be given to candidates based in or near Pennsylvania. The role requires up to 25% travel for outreach and partnership development. Qualifications:
We’re looking for a passionate, goal-driven leader who excels at relationship-building and outreach. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate a knowledge and passion for New Voters’ mission.
A candidate must be able to demonstrate:
Strong interpersonal skills across age groups
Experience in sales or recruitment
The ability to work independently and take initiative
Previous experience managing high school students or volunteers
Adaptability, creativity and problem-solving skills
High level of organization, attention to detail, and flexibility
Previous in-person outreach experience such as tabling or door knocking
Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
Preferred but not required:
Experience engaging with high school leaders, partner organizations or high school students
Strong presentation and public speaking skills to represent New Voters at speaking engagements
Knowledge of key potential schools, partners and student leaders in Pennsylvania
Experience in a nonpartisan political-adjacent setting in supervising or mentoring others
Responsibilities Include:
1. Chapter Recruitment - Schools & Partners
Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment plans with the purpose of recruiting at least 100 school chapters in Pennsylvania, and 150 school chapters outside of Pennsylvania, to run a voter registration drive by the end of 2026
Lead various in-person recruitment efforts, including attending and coordinating events
Establish relationships with high school administrators, staff and teachers to formally recruit high school chapters
Travel to high schools in Pennsylvania and across the country to establish and ensure a positive and long-lasting relationship with school staff
Meet with allied organizations to establish relationships that will enable us to add more high schools to run drives
Write project and partnership proposals
Maintain relationships with above stakeholders to ensure year-over-year partnerships
2. Volunteer & Team Management
Supervise and train a team of 5-15 high school and college interns on our “national team” to conduct and support on recruitment efforts
Create and maintain a New Voters Alumni Network with the intent to mobilize the alumni of our “national team” and of our voter registration drive leaders
3. Data Analysis and Reporting
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of outreach and recruitment of chapter efforts
Other tasks as assigned
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary for this full-time role is $56,000 - $60,000/year. New Voters is pleased to offer 100% reimbursement for monthly health insurance and dental insurance premiums, a fully remote workplace, and unlimited PTO.
