New Voters is hiring a full-time Program Manager to help us run 250 voter registration drives by December 2025 and lead our cohort of mentors. Position Summary
New Voters is looking for a driven, organized, and passionate leader with at least 2 years of experience in program management, people management, and/or human relations work. The Program Manager will be responsible for hiring and managing New Voters’ flagship college mentorship programs. New Voters hires 2 cohorts of college mentors (spring and fall) per year. Our college mentors work to coach high school students in running voter registration drives.
The Program Manager will support the Department of Programs in executing voter registration drives, managing the college mentorship program, supporting internal company culture and people operations, and assisting in recruitment, outreach, and events. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in people operations, college student management, and program management.
The Program Manager is expected to travel up to 20% of the time. This travel includes work retreats, and some events for New Voters. This position is fully remote, though preference will be given to candidates based in or near Pennsylvania. This position is expected to start mid-July.
About New Voters
New Voters is a youth-led 501(c)3 nonprofit. Since 2018, New Voters registration drives have taken place in 500+ high schools in 39 states. New Voters works with over 300 college and high school interns. In 2024, we reached over 50,000 high school students and supported over 300 peer-led voter registration drives. New Voters has been recognized as a United Nations Youth Solution and featured on NBC News, Teen Vogue and C-Span.
Responsibilities include:
Mentor Management
Ensure voter registration drives are executed via mentorship management
Hiring all mentors
Oversee New Voters flagship mentorship programs, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, from onboarding students, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed
Develop and implement training for all of our mentors
Design, coordinate, and facilitate group meetings, workshops, and events for mentors and interns.
Organize regular check-ins with mentors and provide professional development resources to enhance their leadership and mentorship skills.
People Operations
Build upon and develop internal company policies with the support of the Director of Programs
Assist other departments in hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
Plan and host National Team meetings for our 50+ member team (goals, structure, and cadence of meetings) and skill-building workshops for the National Team
Establish cadence of National Team calls
Alumni Network
Create and maintain an alumni network dedicated to providing previous New Voters mentors and interns professional development opportunities, job listings, further mentorship, and networking opportunities.
Work with Comms Manager on alumni Instagram & LinkedIn
Programs Assistance
Support in the Director of Programs at various New Voters events – both virtual and in person – to register young voters and recruit students to host voter registration drives
Qualifications
A successful candidate will be highly organized, passionate, and driven. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate a knowledge and passion for New Voters’ mission.
A candidate must be able to demonstrate:
Previous experience managing college students
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in mentorship, youth development, or education, preferably in a nonprofit setting
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to connect with diverse groups of students and mentors.
Adaptability, creativity and problem-solving skills
High level of organization, attention to detail, and flexibility
Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
Preferred but not required:
Previous experience working in voter registration or running voter registration drives
Previous experience building out programs, such as an alumni network
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $56,000 - $62,000. New Voters is pleased to offer 100% reimbursement for monthly health insurance and dental insurance premiums, a fully remote workplace, and unlimited PTO. New Voters regularly conducts evaluations where employees may receive bonuses and promotions within the organization.
