New Voters team members receive Andrew Goodman scholarship; Spring volunteer applications are open!
High school seniors Annie Chen and Sophie Rivell pave the way for youth leaders in the civic space—this spring, you can, too.
New Voters has always been about empowering young leaders to create real change; today, we’re excited to announce an opportunity to join our 2025 team. Applications are now open for passionate high school and college-aged students to join our nationwide movement to register first-time voters - please share this opportunity with young people you know!
Two of our incredible team members, Annie Chen of Chandler, AZ and Sophie Rivell of West Chester, PA, received the Andrew Goodman Foundation inaugural Living the Legacy Scholarship, a prestigious honor recognizing their dedication to civic engagement.
Annie is a dedicated voting rights advocate and the Arizona State Lead for New Voters, where she works to expand ballot access and increase high school voter registration - she helped establish our official partnership with the Arizona Department of Education. She plans to continue her civic engagement by studying social policy analysis at Rice University, focusing on empowering underrepresented communities and challenging restrictive voting measures.
Sophie is a civic leader committed to empowering young voters and advocating for policy change. As a Pennsylvania State Lead for New Voters, she organizes voter registration drives and statewide events, including being a lead organizer for GradFest, the largest high school voting party ever. She has served on Senator Comitta’s Student Advisory Board proposing legislation, and actively engages in political campaigns and youth policy initiatives.
Their story could be your story.
