Reaching 15,000 Teens with United Synagogue Youth
New Voters is partnering with USY to run voter registration drives in their 200+ high school chapters!
We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership between New Voters and United Synagogue Youth (USY), a high-potential and urgent opportunity to engage young leaders across North America in voter registration efforts. USY, with 200 active chapters and an estimated 15,000 members, is ideally positioned to help drive this critical work forward.
Through this collaboration, New Voters will support USY leaders as they organize voter registration drives in their USY chapters or high schools. We’ll provide personalized 1:1 mentorship, voter registration resources, and merchandise to ensure these youth leaders have everything they need to make an impact. With active chapters in 35 states, including major hubs like Pennsylvania, Arizona and Nevada, the potential to mobilize young voters is immense.
We’re also excited to announce that Liora Petter-Lipstein, one of our dedicated mentors, will be stepping into a new role for the next two weeks as USY Partnership Coordinator, exclusively focused on making this initiative a success. Liora has worked on Jewish civic engagement projects across the country, including facilitating student voter participation and education as the MitzVote Campus Co-Director at Maryland Hillel and leading Yom Kippur services and programming for inmates in Tallahassee, FL. She was president of her USY chapter in high school, and active in Hagalil USY. She is currently a senior graduating this semester with a bachelors in Public Policy from the University of Maryland.
“One of the core tenets of Judaism is civic engagement and taking care of your community. For so many including myself, USY was a place to foster community and discover our Jewish identity. This collaboration will help USYers across the country discover their identity as new voters, and we're so excited to have USY’s commitment to empowering all their youth members register to vote and civically engage through this partnership.”
